India: MSF receives Nagaland governor’s medal for Mon project

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) was awarded the Nagaland governor’s Gold medal during the Independence Day ceremony on August 15, 2013 in recognition of the “distinguished services” rendered by MSF in Mon District Hospital. We have been supporting the hospital since 2010.

“Following the contributions of Médecins Sans Frontières, the Mon district hospital will be upgraded to a 100-bed hospital,” Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said on the occasion.

MSF has significantly invested in upgrading key areas of the hospital. We have improved pharmacy management, infection control measures and water and sanitation facilities.
