Jharkhand: Fighting malnutrition alongside local communities

In Jharkhand, an Indian state known for its diverse tribal communities, the number of people that are malnourished is persistently higher than the national average.

Since 2009, MSF has treated over 17,000 severely malnourished children in India using an innovative community engagement model. On the basis of this experience, our teams stared treating Severe Acute Malnutrition in children in Jharkhand’s Chankradharpur block in 2017.
