‘WHO CARES?’: MSF exhibition highlights healthcare crisis

An audio-visual exhibition will engage the general public in Delhi on pressing concerns in medical and humanitarian work world

New Delhi : International medical humanitarian organisation Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is holding a three-day exhibition at Dilli Haat, INA starting today as part of its public campaign – ‘Who Cares?’. The campaign is about connecting the general public with those who have little or no access to much-needed medical care. The exhibition in itself is an innovative concept as it is housed under tents which are used as mobile clinics by MSF.

“Through this exhibition, we hope to share the story of MSF, of our patients and doctors and our work around the world – whether it is the challenge of providing medical care to people caught in the conflict in Central African Republic or providing mental healthcare to people in Kashmir.  We want to share our experiences ‘from the field’ and in turn, hope to increase awareness about these issues,” says Martin Sloot, General Director, MSF India.

During the exhibition, visitors will get the unique opportunity to interact with MSF medical staff who have first-hand experience of working in difficult situations in India and abroad.

The exhibition also has audio-visual displays and photographs depicting the core values of MSF, and its medical work in India and more than 70 countries. It will be open for visitors from April 18 to April 20 from 11am to 9.30pm at Dilli Haat. This exhibition will travel within Delhi in the months to come. Later in the year, the ‘Who Cares?’ campaign including the exhibition will be launched in Mumbai as well.

About ‘Who Cares?’

The ‘Who Cares?’ campaign is MSF India’s first public campaign to raise awareness about critical health issues and the work being carried out by MSF in India and more than 70 countries. The campaign was launched in New Delhi last year and was supported by late actor Farooq Sheikh and film director Anurag Kashyap.

The idea behind the ‘Who Cares?’ campaign stems from MSF’s belief that everyone deserves access to healthcare irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation, especially where the need is most.
