Three years after the mass exodus of Rohingya refugees
August 25th marked three years since widespread, targeted violence by Myanmar’s military against the Rohingya population in Rakhine state. It resulted in over 700,000 people fleeing into Bangladesh. They joined hundreds of thousands of others in refugee camps around Cox’s Bazar who had fled previous waves of violence. Three years on, their lives remain on hold. There is still little hope of positive change, nor for their return home to Myanmar in a safe and dignified manner any time soon.
